That’s it. The main reason to use TypeScript. There is a Kool-Aid mentality in the JavaScript community these days when it comes to TypeScript. I feel that the push is from former Java and C++ programmers who find TypeScript more comforting.

I love that JavaScript is a dynamically typed language. I love how you can express your logic using functional programming patterns. TypeScript sometimes just gets in the way. IMO, an approach of ‘add Types when necessary’ will go a long way.
