Thank you Eric. Someone has the balls to call out the bad parts.

TypeScript also adds more code and thus more cognitive load. It is one more thing for developers to master. It is also one more thing to design, review and debug. TypeScript is the comfort zone for former Java and C++ programmers, IMO.

Teams are better off keeping the toolset small, mastering JavaScript fundamentals, using functional programming patterns, learning clean coding principles and adopting TDD.
